ABOUT ABOUT
Oregon is quickly becoming the American answer to Burgundy's Côte d’Or. Its pinot noir grapes combine New World ripeness and fruit with the earthy, terroir-driven finesse of Old World wine making. To highlight these fine wines Chef Jarrod Verbiak will prepare a dinner with another Oregon delicacy, the black winter truffle, to pair with four Willamette Valley vintages from Ponzi Vineyards. Your hosts: db Bistro Moderne's Sommelier Caleb Ganzer and Maria Ponzi. Featured wines will include Rosé of Pinot Noir 2010, Reserve Chardonnay 2007, Pinot Noir 2009, Reserve Pinot Noir 2008, Vino Gelato 2010 with dishes such as Black Truffle Scallop Ceviche, choice of Black Truffle Risotto or Saucisson en Croûte with Black Truffle and Black Truffle Roasted Squab. Among the first to plant grapes in Oregon, the Ponzi family founded their vineyard in 1970 and are today internationally acclaimed for producing some of the world's finest Pinot Noir. They have set the standard for Oregon's viticultural innovation while maintaining an unwavering commitment to winemaking excellence with all 120 acres of family-owned vineyards LIVE Certified Sustainable, the world's highest standard for sustainable viticulture.
